Porta Potty Rental Questions
How much, how many, how often they're cleaned, and what you need to have ready.
How much does it cost to rent a porta potty?
It depends on what you rent, how many, for how long, how often it's serviced and where it's going. A single unit for a Saturday party and a row of units serviced every week on a six-month build are very different jobs. How many porta potties do I need?
For events, a common starting point is one unit per 50 guests for four hours. Add more if the event runs longer or there's alcohol. For job sites, plan on about one unit per 10 workers with weekly service. Tell us your numbers and we'll check them with you.
What's included in the rental?
Delivery, setup where you want the units, servicing on the agreed schedule (pump-out, cleaning, and restocking paper and sanitizer) and pickup at the end. Anything outside that, like extra service visits or moving units mid-rental, is spelled out in your quote before you book.
How long can I rent a porta potty?
As short as a single day or as long as your project runs. One-day events and months-long job sites are set up differently, so let us know which you need when you call.
How often are the units cleaned?
For ongoing rentals, weekly service is typical for a unit used by up to about 10 people a day. Bigger crews, public use and hot weather usually mean more frequent visits. Each visit includes pumping the tank, cleaning and sanitizing inside, and restocking supplies.
Do you deliver and pick up?
Yes. We deliver, set up, service and pick up. On your end, make sure a truck can get to the spot on delivery day and on each service visit.

How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you know your date and location. Spring and fall weekends are the busiest time for events, and accessible units tend to go first. Job-site rentals are usually easier to arrange on shorter notice.
Do I need porta potties on a construction site?
Yes. OSHA's construction sanitation rule, 29 CFR 1926.51, requires toilets on site, and the number goes up with crew size. We deliver, service on a schedule and move units as the work moves.
What should I rent for a wedding?
Deluxe units are a popular choice because they have a sink, a mirror and better light inside, with no hookups needed. Add an accessible unit for older guests or anyone with mobility needs. Our wedding page has more on how many to get and where to put them.
What's the difference between standard and deluxe units?
They're about the same size. A standard unit has a hand sanitizer dispenser but no running water. A deluxe unit has a nicer inside, usually a hand sink and a mirror. Standard suits work crews and casual events; deluxe suits dressed-up guests staying for hours.
Do you have ADA accessible units?
Yes. They have a wide door that opens outward, grab bars inside and room to turn a wheelchair. Events open to the public generally need them under the ADA Standards for Accessible Design, and a common planning figure is one for every 20 standard units, with at least one on site. If your event has a permit, it sets the number that applies.
How many accessible units do I need?
Where portable toilets are grouped, the 2010 ADA Standards call for at least 5 percent of them, and no fewer than one, to be accessible, so plan one in each group. If your event has a permit, it can set a higher number.
Do you rent handwashing stations?
Yes. They're freestanding sinks with their own fresh water, usually worked with a foot pump. If food is served or prepared at your event, you'll likely need them. Rules vary by county, so check with your local health department.

What does the spot need to be like?
Firm, fairly level ground and a clear path wide enough to bring a unit in. The service truck also needs to get close enough to reach the unit with a hose, both on delivery day and at every service visit.
Do porta potties need water or power?
No. Standard and deluxe units are self-contained, with no water, drain or power hookup, so they can go anywhere a truck can reach. Handwashing stations carry their own fresh water too.
Can I put a porta potty on the street or sidewalk?
Sometimes, but placing anything in a public right-of-way may need permission from your city or town. If the only spot is on the street, check with the local authority before booking and let us know when you call.
What if I need more units, more service or a longer rental?
Call us. Adding units, increasing service or extending the rental is common, especially on job sites where the crew grows. The sooner we know, the easier it is to schedule.
