What's Included When You Rent a Porta Potty?

When you rent a porta potty, you're not just renting a plastic box. You're paying for someone to bring it, set it up, keep it clean and take it away.

What's normally included?

What's often extra?
These are common add-ons. None of them are unreasonable, since each one is extra work, but it's better to know up front:
- Extra service visits beyond the agreed schedule.
- Moving units to a new spot after they've been placed.
- A trip where the unit couldn't be reached, for example because a gate was locked or a truck was parked in the way.
- Delivery or pickup outside normal hours.
- Handwashing stations, which are a separate unit.
What are you responsible for?
Mostly, access. The truck needs to get to the units on delivery day, on every service visit and at pickup. You're also responsible for the units while they're on your property, so it's worth putting them somewhere they won't get knocked over by equipment or vandalized.
And don't let anyone put trash, bottles or anything other than toilet paper in the tank. It makes pumping difficult and can lead to extra charges.
What should you ask before you book?

Misuse and damage
Porta potties are tough, but not indestructible. The most common problems are trash in the tank, units tipped over by wind or equipment, and vandalism at unattended sites. Trash in the tank makes pumping harder and can mean extra work. A tipped unit is a mess for everyone.
Putting units somewhere sheltered, away from vehicle routes, and anchoring them in exposed or windy spots goes a long way. If something does happen, call us so it can be dealt with quickly.

Depending on your job, you might add:
